Welcome, and thank you for considering our daycare. Before I opened Tender Hearts, I was a mom searching across San Jose for care that felt truly right — warm, safe, and genuinely attentive. I toured kind but crowded, organized yet impersonal programs and thought: there has to be a better way. When I could not find it, I built it.
Tender Hearts Christian Daycare is my promise: a faith-filled home of joy and learning where children are known by name, comforted when unsure, and celebrated for every little victory. I studied Early Childhood Development and Intervention at De Anza College, and after more than a decade serving children in church and here, I still see this as a calling.
We use attachment-informed, play-based care with gentle, predictable routines and early foundations in reading, math, and friendship. Every child receives individual attention in a warm, home-like setting. We staff above licensing ratios, so no one ever gets lost in the crowd.

We track each child's milestones using Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ), partnering with parents to celebrate progress and support every stage.

In November 2011, after searching San Jose for childcare for my two-year-old daughter that truly matched my values, I felt called to create something better — for my own children and for yours. Inspired by my Christian faith and Jesus' love for little ones, I opened Tender Hearts as a place where every child is known by name and treated with love, compassion, and respect.
With training in early childhood development, we blend attachment-informed, play-based learning with the fundamentals that build school readiness. We serve wholesome, nutritious meals prepared fresh each day and hold ourselves to the highest standards of safety and care. Above all, everything we do is furnished with love — making this not just daycare, but a home away from home.
Today, we are grateful to be among San Jose's most trusted and cherished home daycares — loved by our current parents and by the families of our little kindergarten alumni.
Tender Hearts began as a mom's promise to her own children — and it is still a family affair. Jessica, her husband, and their two kids all call this home, and the same love that raised them fills our daycare every single day.
